Oils vs. Creams: Choosing the Right Moisturizer for Your Skin

Choosing the right moisturizer is essential if you want your skin to feel and look its best, that's why we should know what's the difference between the various types of moisturizers.

In this blog post, we'll explore the difference between water-based and oil-based moisturizers, and we'll find out which kind more suitable for your skin.

Water-based moisturizers

Water-based moisturizers like creams and lotions are made with a mix of oils and water. They hydrate the skin, meaning they give it the water it needs.

Oil-based moisturizers

Oil-based or butter-based recipes contain no water. They soften the skin, cure irritation and even inflammation depending on the fatty acid profile.

What's the right type of moisturizer for your skin?

Given what we have said so far, it's easy to see that if you have dry skin using just plain oils and butters may not be the answer.

In fact, if your skin is dehydrated and needs more water, you should apply a moisturizer like a water-based lotion or cream that can replenish its hydration level.
